RIP Dusty Rhodes & The River Band

After nearly ten years of amazing music, Dusty Rhodes and the River Band are calling it quits. Unfortunately, even though they were amazing, very few people knew about them. Their blues/indie-rock feel mixed with unmatched stage presence made them unbelievable to hear on and off the stage. I went to their last show at the Anaheim House of Blues and they certainly didn't go quietly. At one point the lead singer, Dustin Apodaca, came out in an American flag jumpsuit and played a behind the head synth solo that could probably be compared to the fall of the Berlin Wall, the atomic bomb at Hiroshima and when Jimi Hendrix set his guitar on fire during a live show. They will be missed extremely by their fans and even more so by those that won't get to see their legendary skill in the future. Be sure to check them out on I-tunes and www.cdbaby.com/. As an ode to them here is "First You Live"
